The purpose of mesh in SS316 Flange Guards is to softly dissipate the pressurized spray out . The mesh runs along the circumference of the flange connection and any spray out passes through the multi-layered mesh. This substantially slows sown the spray out to a stage of a merely noticeable drip which serves as an indicator to the maintenance staff. The stainless steel mesh netting in the SS Spray Shields also increases the friction between the flange and the SS Safety Shield which keeps the flange guard securely latched on to the flanges. The netting mesh in Flange guards also provide space for evaporation of leakage and reduces the corrosion rate of the safety spray shield and the flanges both.
